The more I read, the more it seemed that the writer of the article has an inherent disdain for Driscoll's church and theology. However, although it was evident that her bias played a part in how she conveyed Driscoll (and I know it would be lunacy to hope that a mainstream article would be exempt from bias) it's awesome that Driscoll is focusing his church and books on a Scripturally infused and founded theology and therefore denouncing the false and sadly well-spread notion that we are our own redemption and the source of our own happiness and ability.

I particularly love this portion of the article, and I'm glad the author decided to quote the Harris' boys on this point:

"Traditional evangelical theology falls apart in the face of real tragedy...Reducing God to a projection of our own wishes trivializes divine sovereignty and fails to explain how
both good and evil have a place in the divine plan."

Yes, I'm a Calvinist. =)

About Standing Firm

Standing Firm was created to be a source of theological truth in a world that is filled with philosophies and empty deceit. God's Word is filled with charges to those that are called by His name to stand firm and to not be conformed to this world. We must heed the charge of the Apostle Paul to the church in Rome: "I appeal to you therefore brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a spiritual sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, so that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good, acceptable and perfect" (Romans 12:1-2).
